About the Employer
Founded in 2012, TotalRen are a software consultancy company based in Peterborough who specialise in developing bespoke business solutions. Working with businesses of all sizes Totalren provide reliable, cost effective systems enabling their customers to focus on things that really matter to their business.

Tasks to be trained in

  • Creating mobile applications
  • Writing code for bespoke software and testing the code
  • Working closely with the software development team
  • Speaking with customers
  • Attending development meetings to help come up with design ideas

Training to be provided
Software Development Technician Level 3 Course Content:
The modules you will complete as part of this apprenticeship are:

BCS Level 3 Certificate in Software Development Context and Methodologies (Part 1 & 2) Includes Exam

  • Software Development Environment, Roles and Structure
  • Software Development Processes

BCS Level 3 Certificate in Programming (Part 1, 2 & 3) Includes Exam

  • Software Development Requirements
  • Software Data, Interfaces & Security
  • Developing Code Using Good Practices & Logic

Skills Required

  • Any knowledge of C# and Java would be beneficial but not essential
  • Any knowledge of web technologies such as HTML and JavaScript would be beneficial but not essential
  • Any experience of writing code (even at home)
  • Someone who has self-taught knowledge of coding
  • A passion for coding
  • Go getter and friendly!

Salary, Hours, Benefits

  • Monday to Friday 9am-5pm
  • 20 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • £150 per week
  • Pizza pay day and treats in the office frequently

There are career progression opportunities available upon completion of the programme. You, along with your employer, may progress to a Level 4 programme, and take your training even further.

Location & Travel
Located on the outskirts of Peterborough, there are multiple transport links such as bus and train to and from the City Centre and surrounding areas. There is also free parking for those who drive.
