Claim – Tees Valley

The Tees Valley Apprenticeship Grant for Employers (AGE) is available to all Tees Valley based small and medium sized businesses, employing apprentices aged 16 to 24 who are following an Apprenticeship Framework.

Apprenticeship Grants for Employers provides a core grant of £2,500 per apprentice.

An additional incentive payment of £1,000 per apprentice is available if the employer:

  • Starts an apprentice on a Higher Apprenticeship equivalent to NVQ Level 4 and above
  • Progresses a young person from a completed Traineeship to an Apprenticeship

The Apprenticeship Grant for Employers is available for new apprentices aged 16-24 years old who start their learning, between 1st August and 31st December 2016.

Tees Valley Employers with up to 250 employees, who have employed an apprentice (aged 16 to 24) who started their learning between 1st August and 31st December 2016.

Employers will be required to commit to:

  • Employ the apprentice for the duration of their apprenticeship training (a minimum of 12 months)
  • Pay at least the Apprentice National Minimum Wage.

Apprenticeship Grant payments will be made in full upon completion of eligibility checks once the apprentice has been employed for 13 weeks.
